Charles L. Thomas, 63, of Charleston passed away September 7, 2017 at his home. Charlie was a 1972 Graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School; a retired sheet metal worker with 40 years of service, having worked out of Local Union #33; member of South Charleston Masonic Lodge #168 A.F. & A. M.; Charleston Scottish Rite Bodies, 32nd degree and Beni Kedem Shrine. He was also a Certified Scuba Diver. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Katie and Lewis Lightner and his mother, Maxine Bell Thomas. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Kathy Thomas; daughter, Cheryl Renee' Anderson; sons, Eric A. Hammons and wife Stacy, Bradley N. Hammons and wife Jamie; grandchildren, Elijah, Nevaeh, Layla, LillyAnn, Raylee, Colton, Parker and Hunter; brother, Harold John Thomas and wife Kay and dog Ressee. Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday September 9, 2017 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Dr. Earl Cochran officiating. Entombment with Masonic Graveside Rites provided by South Charleston Masonic Lodge #168 A.F. & A.M. will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday September 8, also at the Funeral Home.
